Most people have heard about browser cookies that many websites use for tracking purposes or automatic login.  In most cases, these are harmless.  However, some people are very security conscious and they like to delete their cookies to remove the trail of websites they visit.  Wired Magazine has an article online that discusses the Flash cookies and their implications.

Unlike traditional browser cookies, Flash cookies are relatively unknown to web users, and they are not controlled through the cookie privacy controls in a browser. That means even if a user thinks they have cleared their computer of tracking objects, they most likely have not.
