OCR: Optical Character Recognition. In layman’s terms, this is a process where the computer converts an image of text, usually starting from a piece of paper, into editable text which can be imported into a word processor for further use.
Online OCR allows you to upload an image (PDF, TIF/TIFF, JPEG/JPG, BMP, PCX, PNG, GIF) to convert to text. It recognizes 28 different languages. Give it a try, although I don’t recommend using any confidential documents. I couldn’t find their privacy policy online and don’t know if they keep copies of the text.
